India is the second largest producer of fresh vegetables in the world and accounts for about 15% of the world s production of vegetables. States growing fruits and vegetables in abundance are Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, hilly regions of Uttaranchal, TamilNadu, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Punjab, Tripura, West Bengal and Orissa.

The fruits and vegetables grown in India are Apple, Banana, Lime / Lemon, Mosambi, Orange or Mandarin, Grapes, Mango, Papaya, Brinjal, Cabbage, Cauliflower, Okra, Onion, Peas, Potato and Tomato etc. Peanut is growing in abundance at Swarastra region of coastal Gujarat. Grapes are largely supplied from Nasik and orange from Nagpur of Maharastra. Onion is largely grown in Nasik and Shiridi of Maharastra. Chiku is largely supplied from Navsari region and banana is from South Gujarat.

Tobacco products contribute a wider dimension in Indian agriculture. Raw tobacco is used in cigarettes, bidi, cheroot and gutkhas. The key producers of raw tobacco are Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat ( Kheda Dist.) and Karnataka. The alcoholic form beverage in India is categorized under beer, country liquor and Indian Foreign Liquor (IFL). IFL production includes wines, whisky, rum, vodka, gin and brandy. The states manufacturing liquor include Haryana, Punjab, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, and Kerela. Tea is grown in the Assam border and the areas of Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Orissa, Sikkim and Uttar Pradesh have abundant tea plantations.

Floriculture ranges from traditional flowers to cut flowers and dried flowers. There has been a tremendous increase for flowers in the form of bouquets, floral baskets, and floral ornaments and flower decorations. The major floriculture suppliers in India are Maharastra, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Haryana. India is supplying exclusive varieties of ornamental flowers grown like Rose, Marigold, Chrysanthemum, Mogra etc. The bedding plants are supplied in huge varieties of seedlings and rooted cuttings flower like chrysanthemum, carnation, gerbera, dahlia, poinsettia, marigold and others.
