Fluorescent tubes are linear lighting fixtures mostly used in retail displays, refrigeration cabinets, sports halls, food displays, prisons, hotels, restaurants, shopping centers and many other applications. U-shape or U-bent fluorescent tubes are used in 2x2 fixtures in an office environment. The b allast for these lamps is usually the same as the straight fluorescent tubes. Fluorescent tubes can be made to produce a wide variety of spectrums and intensities. Standard fluorescent tubes are used for aquariums. Higher intensity fluorescent tubes are suitable for marine tanks and for corals. Fluorescent tubes consist of GE 2D lamps, circline and biax lamps. Different types of compact fluorescent tubes are available for wide applications.
