Roman blinds provide a very smart solution to dressing windows in a modern context. They suit almost all window styles whether period of contemporary. They use a minimum of fabric (often the expensive bit!) and although they are time-consuming to make, the result is most effective.
When the blind is down, the fabric is flat, so choose your fabric with this in mind, plain fabric can look very plain and we suggest you consider adding a shape to the bottom or binding the edges with a contrast colour.
Blinds are supplied complete with a fabric-covered batten, which is then drilled for fixing direct to the wall, although small brackets can be used if preferred. The blind is corded through eyes and held on a brass cleat hook. This method allows for the blind to fit close to the wall.
Interlining as standard is offered. Rods r fixed between the lining and the interlining so that there are no sewn pockets and no machine lines on the face of the fabric, and hand sew the rings in place, this makes a softer looking blind.
