In cooking, a casserole (from the French for 'stew pan') is a dish consisting of tough cuts of meat, poultry or game stewed in liquid with vegetables and flavorings. Vegetarian versions also exist. The pot to be used, called a casserole dish or just casserole, has a tight-fitting lid, and is placed in an oven or on the hob.
Casserole servers showcase standard Pyrex dishes on the buffet at different heights allowing the hostess to replenish favorite foods as needed without disturbing the table layout. Usually they are available in Square shaped or Rectangular shaped designs.
Often Square Casserole Stands hold 8" x 8" casserole dishes whereas Rectangular Casserole Stands hold 9" x 13" Pyrex casserole dishes. They can be ordered in various colors and finishes; they form an attraction center in parties and family gatherings.
