Audio frequency coils act as an inductor, whose impedance increases with increasing frequency. These coils are used in blocking the transmission of higher-frequency signals. Primarily used in RF applications. RF coils are the "antenna" of the MRI system that broadcasts the RF signal to the patient a nd/or receives the return signal. They can be "receive-only", in which case the body coil is used as a transmitter; or transmit and receive or transceiver. Air core coils used with RC or electronic integration. Rigid core coils have wide applications requiring accuracy, low distortion, wide frequency range, and low insertion impedance. Flexible core coils used for large current and relatively wide band. The multiple RF coils consist of plural small RF receiving coils, and detect signal from each the receiving coil. The multiple RF coils should eliminate mutual coupling between the small RF receiving coils to accomplish its expecting performance.
