Motors are power devices that provide the actual speed and torque in a drive system. DC motors are mostly used in variable speed and torque applications requiring industrial and other applications. DC gear-motor consists of a rotor and a permanent magnetic fields stator and an integral gearbox or gear-head. Brushed DC motors have built-in commutation, meaning that as the motor rotates, mechanical brushes automatically commutate coils on the rotor. Brush-less DC motors uses an external power drive to allow commutation of the coils on the stator. DC motors are configured in spectrum types and diameter sizes, torque output and power rating specifications. A wide range of DC motors is manufactured by host of manufacturers.
