Plastics & Plastic Material became an indispensable part of our daily life as it is enormously sway over million of lives. They are used in every inch for their durability, light weight and spectrum colour. So far as industry is concern they are widely used for their corrosion and chemical resistanc e and mechanical properties. Polyurethanes are formed through the reaction of an isocyanate component with amines, polyols or other active hydrogen compounds. These include bulk flexibility, resistance to oil or chemicals, heat resistance, gap filling and leveling, retaining, sealing, and thread locking. They provide additional support in applications that deal with raised levels of sound, vibration or shock. Polyurethane adhesives that are resistant to oils and chemicals are not damaged by exposure to acids, alkalis, general chemicals, oils or fuel. Industrial plastics, elastomers and polymers are organic synthetic or processed materials typically consisting of thermoplastic or thermosetting resins.
Thermoplastic resin products are often supplied in the form of pellets designed for feeding into molding machines or extrusion presses. Thermosets are supplied in the form of two part liquid resins such as epoxies or a non-flowing mass premixed with fiber reinforcement as in polyester bulk molding compounds. Polymers are fabricated depending on types or grades like molding, casting, spinning or fiber drawing, thermoforming, extrusion, pultrusion, die casting, sintering and stereolithography. Molding process includes injection molding, compression molding, reaction injection molding, compression-injection or transfer molding etc. Thermoplastics are linear non-cross linked plastics that can be repeatedly softened by heat and then hardened, or set by cooling, which allows parts to be injection molded and scrap to be reprocessed.
