Teflon is a white, opaque, solid with a waxy appearance. It is a self-lubricant and a tough flexible material of moderate tensile strength. It is an outstanding electrical insulator. It is insoluble in everything, except fluorocarbon oils at very high temperatures. Teflon has excellent "non-stick" p roperties and a high chemical resistance to everything, except molten alkali metals and fluorine. They are provided with good thermal stability & good weather resistance. They are widely used in wire coatings, gaskets, holders and spacers, pump parts, lab equipment, non-stick coating in kitchen utensils, low friction linings for hoppers, diaphragms for low temperature equipment etc. PTFE Teflon has excellent chemical resistance properties. Thus, they are used for many applications like in biology, microbiology, medicine, pharmacy and food industry. PFA is a Per Fluoroalkyoxy polymer, having excellent chemical resistance and high temperature tolerance properties. They are widely used in semiconductor piping applications, both for liquid reagents and UPDI water handling.
